Youth and Women Empowerment Program

Youth unemployment and women's economic exclusion remain significant barriers to sustainable development in Homabay County. Many young people struggle to access meaningful employment opportunities, while women often face social and economic challenges that limit their participation in income-generating activities. Without the skills, resources, and support needed to build sustainable livelihoods, many families remain trapped in cycles of poverty. Addressing these challenges is essential to creating stronger communities, reducing inequality, and improving economic resilience.

Through our Youth & Women Empowerment Programme, we equip young people and women with the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to achieve economic independence. The programme provides vocational training in market-relevant trades, entrepreneurship development, financial literacy, and community savings initiatives such as Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). Participants also gain digital business skills, including mobile money management and online marketing, alongside leadership and life-skills training that strengthens communication, decision-making, and personal growth. By empowering youth and women to secure employment, start businesses, and become community leaders, we are helping create pathways to lasting economic opportunity and social transformation.
