Our Story

Educate and Empower Organization (EEO) is a community-driven and registered non-profit organization under the Community Groups Registration Act No. 30 of 2022 Reg No. DSD/43/246/02/209449). It grew from the lived reality of communities in Homabay County, western Kenya, where high poverty rates, early school dropout, and limited economic opportunities constrain the potential of thousands of young people and women every year. Our team is predominantly local people who understand the context, speak the languages, and are trusted by the communities they serve. Our work cuts across three interdependent areas: keeping children in school, equipping youth and women with skills for economic independence, and strengthening communities to advocate for their rights and hold institutions accountable. We believe that lasting change comes from within. That is why everything we do is designed to build local capacity, amplify local voices, and create conditions where communities can drive their own development long after our direct engagement ends.
